Insure is a concentrated bacterium, a great source of "good" bacteria, that is fed to cows before and after freshening and to the calves. It helps with diarrhea, coughs and when cows go off of feed due to stress.
Luke Coblentz, from KY, is presently feeding it to all of his calves 1/8 of a tablespoon per dose, for calves still on bucket milk. Luke had a bad problem with Crypto - a bacterial virus that attacks the stomach walls and makes them hard to the point where no nutrition can be absorbed - and tried our 911 paste and Probiotic paste with no luck. He then tried our In-Sure bacterium. When a calf is diagnosed with Crypto, he mixes 15-30 ml with water in a 30cc syringe and squirts it directly down the calves' throat. Calves that have a high temperature or a bad respiratory case (if they are already on In-Sure) do not go off of feed. If he has a calf that goes off of feed and is not on In-Sure, he gives them a tablespoon twice daily for a few days and the calves are back on feed with no problems.Luke is also feeding In-Sure to his heifers as a general precaution at a does of 1/4 tablespoon per day.
Mervin Yoder, from PA, is also feeding In-Sure and is milking with it. Mervin had a cow with BA surgery that before surgery was milking 100 lbs per day, and after surgery dropped to 50 lbs per day. Within a week of feeding In-Sure, the cow was milking at 80 lbs. This product has no with-holding period on milk, as other products do.
dac has a lot of customers using In-Sure on beef show cattle as well. The tests have proven that these show cattle have "filled up" faster, handle travel stress better and stay eating if they get a cough. Also, when a calf has diarrhea, it clears up within a couple of days once given the In-Sure. There were a low number of calves that obtained shipping sickness once on the product.
We suggest feeding In-Sure to show cattle twice a day at the set dosage. At this amount the weight tests have shown an outstanding weight gain from 4.3 lbs a day to 4.7 lbs a day which is unheard of on steers.
